Born and raised in the middle of Tennessee, Wade began his professional journey after high school by working for NRHA Professional Gabe Hitchins for a year and a half. He then spent three years under NRHA Futurity Champion Bob Avila, followed by three more years training and showing NRHA $5 Million Rider and Futurity Champion Craig Schmersal. These elite mentorships built his foundation in starting young horses and competing at the highest levels.

Today, Wade runs his own program at McDonald Performance Horses in Whitesboro, Texas (1175 Gunter Rd, Whitesboro, TX 76273). He specializes in high-quality two-year-old programs, starting colts from the beginning stages, taking over young prospects, and guiding them to reach their highest potential. His mission is clear: develop high caliber reining horses with patience, skill, and an emphasis on making them willing show partners.
